JAY Union

The Jay Union boasts the ideal combination of foam and fluid for users who require a medium to high risk cushion.

With a 2″ deep anatomically shaped seat well the base offers you improved pelvic & thigh stability and promotes pressure distribution. Jay have created front and rear walls on the cushion to prevent fluid migration keeping the fluid where its required; and in turn reducing the pressure around the sacral area. The design of the form base stops the cushion bottoming out when its used on a tilt in space chair. The Jay seat well size and firmness are automatically determined by cushion width which allows for optimum immersion.

The Jay Flow™ fluid insert lies on the base and moulds to each users unique contours for the most even pressure distribution to reduce the risk of skin breakdown.

The Jay Union is topped with a 1 inch thick Swirled MemGel® foam has improved immersion of the pelvis and thighs in comparison to standard solid visco cushion. Additionally the MemGel® layer reduces heat build up by increasing air flow through the surface then the gel absorbs the heat to improve your comfort. The MemGel® layer also works to support lateral stability.

The blend of contoured base, deep seat well and lateral hip guides allow for a good position of the hips and thighs for user who do not require more radical postural support.

The cushion is completed with the Jay’s Dual Cover Technology; a water resistant inner cover is sealed with an aqua guard zipper to protect the inner components from fluid ingress. Simple to clean for increased durability this cover meets infection control requirements. The Microclimatic outer cover offers improved air circulation and reduces moisture build which can be a contributor to skin breakdown.

The Jay Union is available in two heights so is suitable for both power and manual wheelchair users. Standard height 110mm *at lateral edge; reduced profile version height 90mm *at lateral edge
