If stopping your chair is causing you grief then DREEFT might be the answer! They reduce effort required for braking by 80% and there’s zero friction on your hands. If you experience low muscle strength you can be confident using your chair on inclines, descents and bends, you’re in control. They’re effective even when wet and can be used in conjunction with your power support. 

The DREEFT brake wheels are inspired by the back pedal on a bike and feature their patented braking system. To activate the brake all you have to do is lightly pull the handrim back. So you can stop progressively and thus more safely with a gentle pull. The DREEFT handrim is not attached to the wheel like a standard handrim so you can keep a firm grip on the handrim to control your chair more easily.
